Criteria for selecting corn silage products have traditionally been based on agronomic factors, such as grain yield, disease and pest resistance, stalk strength, and less on nutritional value. For many years it was generally considered that the best grain products were also the best corn silage products. Corn silage was mistakenly thought of as being very consistent in feed value.
